NEW! Horse and Dog Shelters, Sanctuaries and Rescue Facilities Grants Available!
The Community Foundation of the Lake is pleased to announce a grant round earmarked for funding of horse and dog shelters, sanctuaries, and rescue facilities. This grant is not for funding of salaries, utilities or rent. The grant round will open September 6th, 2022 and close October 5th, 2022. Grant awards will range from $500 to $10,000 and be limited to only funding shelters, sanctuaries and rescue facilities for horses and dogs in Morgan, Miller and Camden counties. This grant is available thanks to a field of interest fund created by the Karen Jean Rudek Trust. All questions should be directed to Jane Wright at 636-219-6892.

The Karen Jean Rudek Fund provides support for horse and dog shelters, sanctuaries, and rescue facilities with preference given to Lake of the Ozarks organizations. This grant is not for funding of salaries, utilities or rent.

Community Foundation of the Lake Grants
In 2008, the Community Foundation of the Lake was established by community leaders to assist in building the educational, cultural, health and economic development of the Lake area. The Community Foundation is affiliated with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks which assists more than 40 communities in fund development and administration of the funds at a minimal cost so that the financial resources stay in each community.
The Community Foundation of the Lake, a new way of giving, recently awarded 15 grants to the following local community nonprofit programs:
- Wonderland Camp to fund the gap
- Big Brothers Big Sisters to sponsor 2 new matches of big brothers and big sisters
- Kids' Harbor for centralized, flexible phone system updated for remote access, faxes, etc
- Food for Morgan County to expand the "Living a Healthy Life” for Diabetes Education
- Local Area Needs Initiative for home and appliance repair or appliance purchase
- Camden County Child Advocacy vouchers to buy socks/underwear and back to school supplies
- Lake Arts Council for summer Missoula Children's Theatre play
- Camdenton School Buddy Packs for buddy pack program
- CADV to provide 15-25 clients with insurance, medicine, childcare
- Medical Missions for Christ for rent on climate controlled medical supply storage facility
- Children's Learning Center to purchase a refrigerator and stove
- Royal Arts Council to support community theatre productions
- Lake Area Industries to purchase one evacuation chair to be used in the event of a fire or tornado
- Hero’s Outreach for Program gathering and meals
- LOZ Stop Human Trafficking Coalition for direct aid to victims and survivors, housing
The Community Foundation is a growing resource to receive and grant local community funds donated by families,individuals and corporations. Donations may be in any amount,unrestricted to benefit any community need or restricted by donor designationand used for a specific program or purposes as the donor identifies. All Community Foundation funds stay in the Lake area where they benefit manyorganizations meeting a broad range of local community needs.
