What is a Community Foundation?

We are part of a rapidly growing field of more than 600 community foundations, acting as community savings accounts for regions around the country. We are a non‐profit community organization created by and for the people of the Lake of the Ozarks area.

We are a foundation for the community, making grants to community organizations and building resources. We manage a variety of funds, established by families, individuals and corporations. We're here to help our donors do good work . . . Forever.

Community Foundation of the Lake Announces $34,600 in Grant Awards for Local Horse & Dog Shelters, Sanctuaries, and Rescue Facilities.

Community Foundation of the Lake Announces $34,600 in Grant Awards for Local Horse & Dog Shelters, Sanctuaries, and Rescue Facilities.

The CFL is pleased to announce grants have been awarded in our 6th annual grant round earmarked for funding of horse and dog shelters, sanctuaries, and rescue facilities. This grant is available thanks to a field of interest fund created by the Karen Jean Rudek Trust. Karen Jean Rudek was a long-time resident of the area who loved her dogs and horses. She bequeathed her estate to set up a foundation to support horse and dog care in the local communities of Camden, Miller and Morgan counties. She entrusted stewardship of the fund to the CFL to ensure her long term wishes of animal care were met in perpetuity. The recipients of this generous award are:

Missouri Forget Me Not Horse Rescue & Sanctuary • Ivy Bend Animal Rescue  • Dogwood Animal Shelter • Ozarks Kat & K9 Shelter  • Caring Hearts Dog & Cat Shelter  • Meowtown

This annual grant making round will open again next fall and can be found on the CFL website.

Those interested in establishing a field of interest endowment fund to benefit projects into perpetuity in Camden, Miller and Morgan counties should contact the Community Foundation of the Lake. You can visit their website at communityfoundationofthelake.org for more information.

    foundations.

  • We offer personalized service, including donor and family involvement and education in selecting charities and connecting donors with strategic and highimpact funding opportunities.
